1982: After the first descent of the founding member of the Bundesliga, the return was not long in coming. 1991: After relegation in 1988 and three financially difficult years in the 2nd league, the club came thanks to the support of clinic owner Günter Eichberg and with coach Aleksandar Ristic as well as players such as Ingo Anderbrügge and Jürgen Luginger as well as the young goalkeeper Jens Lehmann Back in League one - and stayed there for 30 years.
